Hi guys,

I've been fiddling with the idea of doing a streaming PC to offload the encoding and bandwidth consumption from my gaming PC. I'd like something small but very purpose built for streaming. With LTT's recent video about how low end GPU's are a terrible value, that notion might make things easier for me, since encoding with OBS is more CPU intensive and doesn't really require any stellar GPU. I was planning to use an Elgato HD60 Pro, but beyond that, I don't have any specifics other than I'd like it to be SFF to save on space. The lower the budget, the better too (more likely to eventually get approval from the boss wife).

I'm just posting the idea and request for specific builds real quickly while at work. I'll come back and put up an example build for input when I get home, but feel free to post any overall builds or pointers about specific parts.

Thanks in advance guys!

Are you like some big a** streamer i should know?

Cuz unless your main build is crap it will not really hit you that hard that you need a second machine for it.

Nope, not popular by any stretch of the imagination. My build isn't crap (4970, GTX 970, 500GB 840 EVO, 16GB of RAM), but I've had games get bottlenecked down to need to drop to Medium to Medium/High settings because CPU is too taxed while both gaming and streaming. I'd rather have one workload (gaming) on my big expensive PC and the other workload (streaming) on another. It would also help give me more flexibility in managing audio sources and inputs.
