when i first installed everything and set it up it was working fine, i was able to control the rpm of the fans as i pleased, but suddenly the fans started acting like they felt like, randomly ramping up and down .. sometimes stuck at 100% and the values shown in corsair link are incorrect and the fans won't be controlled, any ideas? i have no idea why this suddenly started happening when everything was wworking fine at first.

Just now the program didn't show any values at all .. everything was stuck at 0 which was obviously incorrect .. so i uninstalled everything rebooted and reinstalled the program, it's showing the correct values now but the fans refuses to be controlled.

Same thing happened to my H100i, re-installing the link software and usb dongle driver will fix it temporarily.

I don't run the software anymore, it caused many BSOD's (storport.sys)

seriously im so amazed by these products from corsair, and i love how you don't see all these problems when you look up the product but they pop up everywhere once you have it , funny thing i can actually control 1 fan now but not both .. as the other fan is stuck at 1400 rpm which generates some hefty noise, i swear .. never again either i spend a fortune on my next setup and go full on watercooling or i go with a sexy air cooler.

1400 rpm is nothing, they go up to ~2500 rpm (37.68 dba)

the fans that came with the h100i were too loud

so I got noctua nf-f12's, http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=66920  (they run at ~1400 rpm max, and are very quiet, <23 dba)

they have a 6 year manufacturer warranty

temperatures are exactly the same with stock fans at 2400 rpm and noctua's at 1350 rpm

i have Noctuas aswell and i find the noctua nf-f12 to be fairly noisy at 1400 rpm, the case i got is the haf 912 it's basicly an open tin can that is also very prone to vibrations so all the sound from the inside goes straight outside with nothing blocking it, i don't want my fan staying at 1400 rpm they are just ramping up and down all time like crazy, also its just 1 of the fans that goes crazy the other one is stable at 900 rpm though i can't control neither of them.

have you tried plugging them into the motherboard?

Is there a specific reason to solely using the link software?
