Hello!

A few days ago my laptop suddenly blacked out and died while playing a game. There was no sound or smell or smoke involved, it simply shut down in an instant and now I cannot turn it on. It is completely dead, no light, not even the little indicator for the charger. I attempted a static discharge, or whatever it is called, with repeated pushing of the start button and then one continuous push and hold. I tried it while removing the battery, the charger, even the RAM, but it had no effect. I know for sure the adapter and the cable are alright, because my friend was able to use them just fine. Laptop model: Lenovo Y580; has had its HHD replaced once while still within the warranty; 3 and a half year old; no previous indications of malfunction.
Does anyone of You know if there is anything I could still try before taking it to the repair service? Thank You for Your time and advice.

Check your RAM. Often a bad stick in a laptop will do this kind of thing to you and make you think the whole system is pooched.
