DVD Drive Raid 0 Array

Now not 100% if i this is the right subforum to post, but I had an idea for a LTT BuildLog.

 

If linus and luke where to do a build without HDD's/SSD's and only use DVD/BluRay Drives.

 

Now i have researched this somewhat, according to some sites it is possible to raid Dvd Drives, So what i am suggesting is if Linus/Luke did a build with about 5+ Blu Ray Drives in Raid 0 and see if you could use it like normal 

 

 

Just an idea, but happy to hear suggestions to make it better, or to tell me it won't work at all (because it probably wont)

This would fall into the super useless but awesome nonetheless category, I'd be pretty keen to see something like this. I'd have no idea if it would work, I guess so since you can boot off a disk drive.

You can use them on a raid controller, but not raid them. Would also fall into the category of April Fools where someone says you can do it and burn a dual layer dvd in 2 seconds.

Its just as impossible as trying to raid led's.
