CPU cores

 i have 2 old xeon processors and wanted to upgrade them to 2,  3.2 Ghz duel core xeon processors with hyperthreading. would the processors together act like a single xeon with 4 cores running at 3.2 Ghz each or would something be sacrificed in terms of performance compared to a single chip 4 core processor?
