Windows Graphics Error Messages

Go to solution Solved by Ethan819,

So, this is interesting...

I went into MSI Afterburner to try ramping up the fan speeds to 100%, and a 1365 MHz overclock was applied. The same power limit was set, so I think this problem came from a lack of power, as the temps were fine. I have no idea how that happened... But, it's fixed now, so I'm happy.

I have an XFX R9 270X Double Dissipation running at stock speeds. I have all of the latest drivers for my motherboard, as well as the latest Crimson graphics driver, (including 16.1 Hotfix.) When I run any graphically intensive  software (games, recording software, Folding at Home) I sometimes get 2 or 3 messages saying "Graphics driver has stopped responding then recovered," then "Application [whatever was running] has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware" causing the program to freeze. (sometimes I don't get the driver message, just the blocked message.)

So, what can I do to fix this? My system has been working fine since I built it a few months ago, so I have no idea what is happening... I have tried reinstalling drivers and software, to no avail. I'm pretty much out of ideas. My system works fine for everything until the GPU usage goes above 20-30%, and the temps are staying at under 30°, as it won't take any workload. I can open games to the title screen, but once the game starts, I get the error codes again.

Have you tried rolling back your video driver? And is catalyst control center running?

I just tried rolling back, but it made no difference. Still having the same issue :(. As for Catalyst (now called Radeon Settings) I opened it, and nothing changed (not really sure why it would make a difference)

I was asking about catalyst because when I updated my drivers, it installed radeon setting, but not over top of catalyst, so both control panels ran at the same time. I caused my video divers to keep crashing... Interesting fix though, not having enough voltage by default.
