I posted a build plan earlier this week, but since then I have upped my budget.  I also decided to go more in-depth for what I want and use some old parts from a previous (now desperately failing) computer. I mainly use Adobe Products, so that is why I am keeping the GTX for it's Cudas. However, I sill have no idea what to look for.

I have a

--NVidia GTX 470

--Corsair CX600 Power supply

I would like

--2 1 tb HDD

EDIT: --Some kind of 3.2 GHz+ processsor

EDIT: -- Also Already have Windows 7 key.

--(don't have any idea what else)

However, I would like to try and keep the budget down.  Thanks!!!!!

I will be using this for light editing, and some gaming on the side.

Just gonna be the first one to say this: for that price range and for what you are using it for, GO AMD. Sure, i5s beat the FX 8350 in gaming, but in editing where those 8 cores can be used, the FX beats the i5.

I generally don't consider Xeons in desktop machines unless they're for pretty specific use cases.

I know they are basically i7s for workstations, but still.

i have a xeon in my rig and its primarily used for gaming... i get basically the same frame rates and i have better rendering power than an i5. Xeons are much better for multi-purpose machines than an i5 or any AMD processor

If you want to save a bit more you can remove the ssd and cpu coller, bringing you price down to about $550

This is much better than any AMD solution since intel's individual cores and threads are much faster than AMD's

With that CPU, I would highly advise a better heatsink. The Noctua NH-D14 cooler I had in the previous one will be more ideal.

Considering you only use adobe products I will highly recommend you to build a PC with combination of INTEL and NVIDIA which is most of the time officially supported by adobe itself... So as u r a budget build I would suggest you to have something like i5 4460 or above but stay on haswell. And have a gud GPU like 750ti which easily fits on ur budget or else gtx 960 and 8gb ram on Asus H97m motherboard... And a decent case for this build beast.. Here u done.. Do remember to have a gud PSU like cooler master, antec..
