Which version of the card do you have? check on your screws because fans ramp up when you do heavy gpu tasks

I had this problem in the past. Turns out it was my top panel of my case which houses my radiator and was easily fixed with some blu-tack. If I were you I'd check that all your PCI slot covers are secure and your GPU is screwed in tight.
