Will my power supply be able to handle this graphics card?

Go to solution Solved by DAGGER51,

Yes. A R9 390 uses around 270W and 2 use 540W-ish. You are golden

Okay, seems great!  My one concern still is consistently putting a massive load on my power supply, but since EVGA makes great power supplies, I think I'll be fine.  Thanks!

Hell LTT forums,

I've recently purchased some components for an upcoming build, one of which was an EVGA 850 watt GQ power supply.  I've been planning what graphics card I should buy with the money I have, and I found this - the Powercolor Radeon R9 390X2 Devil 13.  Since it barely fits into my budget (even though I know one graphics card will be perfectly fine for years), I was wondering if my power supply would legitimately be able to handle, effectively, an R9 390 Crossfire?

Also keep in mind I plan on running an Intel Core i7-5820K overclocked, so would I need to plan on something on the Skylake platform instead?  In addition, most of the numbers I've seen on dual R9 390 systems are total system power draw from the wall, maxing out at around 800 watts, which is fine considering that is the number being drawn from the wall.

Thanks,

DAGGER51

EVGA doesn't make anything. That PSU is made by Super Flower and they are indeed good. the EVGA G1, B1 and NEX, however, are poor quality and to be avoided.

Oh, yeah, I know that, but I'm just referring to the brand.  I did do my research and got a good quality 80+ GOLD rated power supply that was newer.

Seriously doubt it. HardOCP use Furmark and that forces an extra 20% over the actual draw of GPUs so factor out 20% and you get a lot less.
