Hi guys

I have Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d 8TB for the last 15 months and in last week 2 drives faulted . I contacted customer support and they will send to me replacement under warranty .

For me I don't feel safe with this NAS and Im seriously thinking of changing it to WD Sentinel DX4000 .

For that I'm asking if any of you guys has an experience with this NAS or if you have any recommendation .

Thank you . smile.gif

AFAIK iomega NAS systems use hitachi drives. Hitachi consumer drives are decent and if thats the case you are simply unlucky. A badly configured linux based NAS could theoretically wear out drives faster but iomega make a decent product and highly doubt that's the case here. If you're concerned about how safe your data is, then back up your data frequently. Remebmer that RAID is no subsitute for backup. In a 8 drive system like that you should be running raid6 anyway, for the exact situation that you have found yourself in.
