Anyone have this phone? What do you think of it?

I love its sleek look.

I want to keep it scratch free. What would you suggest? I understand the back is not tempered glass and just plastic hence I want to protect the back with a glass screen protector. But would cases still fit on there? Or would the glass be too big?

The phone is generally good for a mid-range android smartphone. The added water-resistance is a plus, too.

The build quality is also nice. At first glance, you could even mistake it as a Xperia Z3.

The UI is lean and snappy since it is just a lightly themed version of AOSP lollipop but honestly, it seems to have lost its premium touch with the color schemes.

There's not a lot of bloatware out of the box.

Its battery life is good but definitely not as great as my Z3 Compact. :))

However, when it comes to camera performance, there's nothing much write home about.

Sony produces nice camera modules for its "Exmor" series but the camera software is far from stellar.

The dreaded "superior auto mode" simply just can't do proper guesswork and often softens up pictures with overly aggressive noise reduction algorithms, ultimately washing out detail.

You could always resort to using the manual mode to bypass superior horrible mode's terrible processing but, at times, you would find it difficult to get the right photo when there is little time to snap on a precious scene that you have to capture and just resort to the superior auto mode.

It's the same story for flagships but I stayed loyal to the brand because I love Sony's omnibalance design.

For protection, I'd suggest that you put a tempered glass on the front, a reasonably robust PET screen protector on the back, and then wrap it up with a durable case.

A tempered glass on the back would make it hard to fit in most cases but, you can try. Haha

In my case, I've applied tempered glass on the front and back but instead of a case, I use a small sleeve (it looks like a tiny laptop sleeve) to tuck in when I'm not using it.
