Yes, DDR so multiply the speed by two.

so i have 1600mhz ram but cpuz and task manager say its on 800mhz and it wont clock up is this normal?

DDR = Double Data Rate.

If you have 1 stick it'll run at 800mhz.

if you have 2 or 4 sticks, it'll run at 1600mhz but still display 800mhz.

Nothing to worry about bud

DDR stands for Double Data Rate, one can explain this really in detail, but to solve your question, yes thats normal.

And @MalaySausage

DDR = Double Data Rate.

The actual operating frequency is 800 MHz. Since it is bi-directional Operations takes place during, BOTH, the rising-edge and falling-edge of the clock cycle, so its effective frequency is 1600 MHz.

Task Manager is finicky a displaying the speed of your memory; it may display the effective frequency, or the actual, depending on the system.

The best way is to use a more accurate piece of software (i.e. CPU-Z, AIDA64, or the motherboard BIOS itself).
