i'm not sure, but why would you want to overclock the base clock when you can just toggle the core and cache ratio?

because u wanna try and hit 5ghz but can't through multiplier

I remember there used to be a ratio lock for this type of thing, but I'm going back to the Athlon 64 days here. Aint there a memory ratio or something that helps with this?

no sir.

Is 1.35 the safest max voltage ?

Because I can get 4.8 at 1.3 but fail to boot at 4.9 at 1.35

For 24/7 I wouldn't go much past 1.35, temps usually go pretty crazy after that.

Are you just trying to get a CPU-Z validation?  If so and it's only gonna be for a few mins, 1.5v is no problem.

moar :P chip probably has more in it, since I ran superpi 1m @ 6 ghz as well

Normally if you can't hit a certain speed on a chip with a multiplier overclock, you won't be able to get that high with a BCLK OC, let alone surpass it. Devil's Canyon normally tops out at 4.7GHz, the silicon they use just doesn't have the voltage tolerance to get up to 5GHz. If you want a sure-fire way of getting that speed off of a chip, you'll want a 2600K.
