So I was thinking, extreme computers are well extremely awesome, but also EXTREMELY expensive. You can spend more than $15000 and still not have the best tech, so I thought what if I bought the best parts for an older computer thats "futureproofness" is coming to term, something that would cost much less but still be cool to have and reasonably powered. So I started to look at what older parts cost, and that are within my budget, my budget is little to none :P:( so I am thinking about going in the late Core 2 Extreme processors the QX9650 in specific, the original ASUS Maximus Extreme, and WOW only 8GB of RAM supported, with PATA Support?!?! ok that what I get from 2007, anyway moving on, for the GPU I will be getting 3 NVIDIA 9800 GTX's for 3 way SLI. And those were the best parts that you could get back in 2007. I haven't decided on any other parts yet, but I am thinking a AIO liquid CPU cooler.

So what do you think about this idea?

No such thing as "futureproofness", new tech is always around the corner

this would be cool for nostalgia's sake, but literally a $60 g3258 is probably better than that QX9650.

unless you are getting these parts for free or very low cost, i wouldn't bother.

if you have money to blow, the time, and willpower, by all means don't let me hold you back.
