I just got a 120GB SSD from Kingston and I'm planning on using it as a boot drive and to install one or two more frequent played games (Rainbow Six Siege and/or Witcher 3 at the moment).

I already have 2 HDDs. One 1TB Seagate that is the one that I use and has al my data and one old 500GB Samsung that is SMARTing that I don't put anything in it anymore but has the boot file, so far it's surprisingly working, it just doesn't read any other file in it but manages to boot albeit slowly.

My doubt is:

When I install Windows and drivers on the SSD will I be able to play and use all the files on the 1TB HDD or will I have to install Steam again and redownload The Witcher and Rainbow Six?

I am planning on formating the HDD, but later, since I still have to back some data and game saves.

Any tips on using SSDs and keeping the system fast?

No, just copy the game files onto the SSD like steam (steamapps\common\)and when you press installed it should reverified the files.
