welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

some context would be better.

24/7 build?

mITX build?

remote radiator 50' away?

LN2?

Well.. It's preplanning for my first full custom water cooling loop. I'll write down all the watercooling hardware aswell as the case to give you an idea of how much tubing will be run through my case.

Corsair 900D

EK-DBAY Spin Reservoir (R3.0)  {If it's compatable with the 900D, no one on the internet has tested it, it seems, or I just cant find if someone has} If not, just a standard  larger Reservoir from EKWB

(2) EK-FC980 GTX Ti Classy KPE - Acetal+Nickel [GPU Block]

EK-CoolStream XE 240 (Double) [basement Exhaust]

EK-CoolStream XE 360 (Triple) [Top Exhaust]

EK-CoolStream XE 480 (Quad) [basement Intake]

EK-Supremacy EVO - Nickel [CPU Block]

EK-XTOP Revo Dual D5 PWM Serial - (incl. 2x pump) {OR} Two EK-XTOP Revo D5 PWM - Plexi (incl. pump)

Also, another question if you can answer it: What would be the optimal routing for tubing? I was thinking Res to the Tripple Rad into the CPU then down to the Quad Rad and into the GPU's and then into the double rad before reaching the pump itself and back into the Res

Edit: Not 24/7, but a gaming and video editing rig, so most likely to be left on overnight in a lot of cases.

Will be using an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming with an Intel i7 6700K.

LN2(Liquid Nitrogen?) No. - Distilled Water with Mayhems Dye

Two EK-XTOP Revo D5 PWM - Plexi (incl. pump)

Or

One EK-XTOP Revo Dual D5 PWM Serial - (incl. 2x pump)

Why Not get a Tubular Res, you have a shit ton of space in that 900D

Mostly because I'd prefer to be able to view the Res from the front, since the way my desk is right now I need my case on the left, and will be staying to due to space limitations in my room. though if the DBAY Res is NOT compatible with the 900D, I am willing to get a normal Res

Edit: it would also eliminate the need to get a Flow Monitor since the res would 1) Be visable - and 2) Spin so no need to look carefully if the pump has failed

I am pretty sure it is. Instead of one dual bay res. Why not go with 2 single bay res?

typically you should have the res feeding the pump with liquid first. the res is dual bay so will use 2 5.25" slots as standard.

I know the size of the Res, im just not sure if it's compatible with the 900D due to the tool-less design of the drive bays

What would be the benefit of that?

Sorry for such.. Uneducated questions? I've only used closed loop systems before to cool my quite underwhelming rig, mostly to keep the noise down rather than for performance

I never water cooled either. Dual reservoirs makes it possible to have two separate loops. You can have a separate GPU and cpu loop. You can also have different color fluids. Adding a cool factor.

Well. My color theme is going to be Purple and White if I can find someone to paint the 900D in white, or it's going to be Black and Orange.

And again.. I won't be able to see the window panel for quite some time. So internal look doesn't matter too much for me as of now

What is your budget for the paint job and your location? If not comfortable posting this information here. PM me I will help you.

Not so SO CAL, I don't have the case yet though, or at that rate, ANY component for my build. Still saving up. I know better than to buy as you can afford with a computer, because then if you get a DOA part you're screwed.

And budget isn't really an issue. As I'm just going to save and get it when I can. AKA: Distant Future, and the water cooling will be even further distant

If this is the future, i personally don't like the 900D, since it has been overused. I recommend a case: http://www.caselabs-store.com/mercury-s5-case/. Since it is unique not often used. You can add a custom paintjob later on.

I don't really like cube cases that much. If I were too, I'd go with something a tad more reliable, being the ThermalTake Core X9. And im not a big fan of having a Horizontal mounting for the motherboard

I personally like unique cases. For example Parvum and hexgear are currently my favorite case manufactures.

Devices/components that require a 5.25 slot need to meet certain requirements. Case manufacturers also need to adhere to these standards how they choose to implement it is different tools or tool-less.

As with anything custom, be ready to improvise.

Im a fan of Thermaltake cases and Corsair is reliable. So those are the two I'd stick with currently. That being said. 900D as of now, Core X9 if I REALLY want the White and Purple theme

for a CPU/2xGPU loop, a 480 can handle the radiator requirements easily with

low fan speeds for noise and live with temperatures. anything else is window

dressing or eye candy. one D5 pump will be plenty.

as to the bay res, it'll look similar to this:

500x1000px-LL-fd5cf391_IMG_03212.jpeg

kinda why you don't see much is that the front facia without the covers looks like

something is missing as the slot covers are wider and when installed there is a

lot of uncovered business.
