Hard drive problem

trying to help a friend fix her hard drive. She gets this error "vli product string" tried googling but none of them were of any help.

What exactly is wrong with it?

What is the drive's brand and model? What is your friend's PC (desktop, laptop, etc.)? What OS is she using?
This may be connected to drivers as well as the connection itself so more data is needed before we can help you. :)
