OCD & Be Quiet!

Go to solution Solved by DrkNinja,

ANyone else got a solution?

Ok, so I'm super OCD and I'm gonna be building this system:

So... I opted to go with the Dark Rock Pro 3 because A) it's gorgeous & B) its a dual tower air cooled CPU cooler which is pretty competitive with an AIO cooler (the alternative).

Now that we have that out of the way, ever notice once you mount a Be Quiet! CPU cooler on correctly the aluminum tower cap thing is not displayed properly; my OCD will not have this.

So what are my options? I know in this video Linus did he took the fans out altogether but I feel like for my purposes (gaming/editing/rendering) that wouldn't be a wise idea...

I could always create a different' airflow some how...

Can I unscrew the aluminum cap and remount it? I see screws in the top, or do the heat pipes connect to it?

Anyways some insight or something would be great thanks!

i don't think you can mount it the way around i think you want it (horizontal text i assume) you could possibly make it do a 180 so the text faces the other way but that doesn't solve your issue.

if you measure the top plate and find it's a square then it may be possible. but i suspect it's a slight rectangle.

Unless you can do some very clean modding, having the logo horizontal isn't happening.

Each one of those bumps is over a heatpipe and in addition I think there are extra fins under the raised part of the top plate.

One of the best parts of my Shadow Rock 2, it's a cube, so I can rotate it without issue.

Then how was linus able to turn it the right way?

He didn't attach any fans to it.

You can turn it but it wouldn't match the case's airflow and pull warmer air from any graphics cards you may have.
