Idlemaster questions.

This morning I read an article about Idlemaster. (Software that lets you farm Steam trading cards for all the games in your library without actually playing said games. They don't even need to be installed.)

 

But since this is kind of botting I'm not sure if it is allowed. I've seen people say it's perfectly allowed but didn't really find something about it where Valve officially confirms this. 

 

So I figured I'd ask here.

 

Do you use it? Have you gotten problems with it? Is it uberhaupt worth doing it?

I just started using it today, only because pcgamer vouched for it and im to lazy to play through alot of my games. I see no reason how this wouldn't benefit steam, if you sell the cards steam profits if you need to get more to finish the set you just idled steam profits? Already given them the money for the game.

I see that argument coming back every time. Let's hope Valve officially allows it.. I don't want to lose my account

I searched through the creator's friendlist and saw people with steam level 914 and others with 300+ so I'm assuming they did this with idlemaster and they aren't banned. I'm p sure now it's allowed to use. Thanks for the link!

you only need the cards to level your account? or to sell them for a few cents? @yannickverc

You just need them. Whenever you have a pack complete you can exchange them or something for exp to level up account. Not 100% sure how it works.

are there any benefits from a higher lvl steam account? apart from the glory :huh: and some unlocked "interface" plugins

I think those are it. Those features and the fact you can brag to your friends that your steam level is higher

Not sure. Never checked them. All I know is that the highest level in the world is 914 currently. (He's also friends with the creator is Idle Master so I assume he did it through AFK farming the cards)
