I recently deleted all my drivers with DDU. When I re-installed the newest drivers my temps were about 6C lower. Normally when I am at idle the fans are off and the GPU runs at 50-52C. Now after I deleted all the old drivers and only have the most recent one installed it idles at 42-43C with the fans off and about 6-7C cooler under 100% load.(70C under 100% load with fans at 60%).

Anyone know why deleting old drivers that were taking up space lowered temps? I have done nothing els to my PC or GPU.

My GPU is a MSI GTX 980 Twin Frozr.

Rest of my specs are in my signature.

Maybe it was the hardware using some old inefficient driver remnants, and removing those made the workload lighter?
