Borderlands 2 Freezing

I was wondering if anyone could help me with my problem.  I recently got Borderlands 2, and have been enjoying it a lot.  However, I have been experiencing random freezes while playing the game.  This usually happens within 10-15 minutes of playing, but sometimes I can go an hour or more without anything happening.  

 

If needed, here are my specs.

AMD FX-6300

gtx 660

8gb RAM

Windows 7 64bit

 

Also, I'm new to the computer scene, so be patient if I don't understand some things.

Did you make sure that your temperatures are in check?

Are you overclocked at all?

Steam purchase? if so verify your games cache, if that doesn't work you could try a fresh install of your driver to a non beta version (beta versions are unstable) or a re install of the game itself.

Yeah, steam.  I did the verification thing, said that 1 file failed to validate and that it will be reacquired.      How would I install my driver to a non beta version?

here 320.49 WHQL the most recent non-beta driver, I wouldn't use beta drivers if I were you. Stuff like this always happens with them

Okay, thank you.  I'm downloading it right now.   Should I launch Borderlands 2 after it gets set up and give it a shot?

No reason not to, you might have to restart your PC after you roll back the driver though...in fact if it doesn't tell you to do it anyways. Borderlands runs fine for me on 320.49, if that doesn't solve your issue then there's something else at work here.
