Corsair CPU cooler

Go to solution Solved by The Official Czex,

i can monitor temps with software but how can I know if the processor is unstable

It'll crash when running a stress test like AIDA64 or Intel XTU Test.

I'd recommend a cheaper H105.

Is this CPU cooler good I'm over clocking to about 4.6ghz, the two 120mm sp fans are for the cooler

Well the cooler comes with fans, just FYI, but yeah, that's a good cooler. You don't need that for 4.6 Ghz though.

Like Czex said, I'd recommend the H105 if you're set on Corsair. It has a bigger rad and you don't need to worry about the troubles of dicking around with Corsair's software to make LEDs work.

That aio closed loop water cooler is more than enough for a 6700k because I have the corsair h80i GT and I have my 6700k at 4.8 and it works perfectly fine

how is it cheaper and better than the h100i

It's 100 USD vs 130 USD for a thicker radiator of the same length.

I have achieved 5.2GHz on my 6700K (probably Silicon Lottery), but 4.6GHz is easily achievable.

and which one is thicker

The H105 is both thicker and cheaper.

Silicon Lottery refers to the quality of the silicon die of the CPU, whihc can vary from chip to chip (affecting OC' ing capabilities).

how do I know when to stop overclocking

When temps get too high or the OC becomes unstable at any voltage.

Remember to use a balance of BCLK and frequency OC' ing to get the most out of your chip.
