GRRRR i had a cheap case and my PSU caused interferance it buzzed/hummed and i could here it through the metal of the case from the front of the case even... Then I saved up for my Corsair 350D (very good case) and its still happening just a little bit not as bad... What should I do? does it mean I have a cheap power supply that rattles a lot..? Its a CoolerMaster Xtreme 2 725W...

Anti-vibration and/or sound dampening foam. Just stick it on the power supply and force it in. It'll be a tight squeeze but it does its purpose. It's what I've done.

if you have some kind of shipping padding sitting around thats small enough to get in between the case and psu or even go to the hardware store and get some padding strips they use to seal doors i figured that is the cheapeast simpliest

i am not going to site here and and say about the psu because honestly i dont know but i dont think it will as long as you take care of the vibrations from transferring through the case

Only reason I can find it "rattling" would be a faulty fan. You could ask for a replacement or just grab another 120 mm fan and replace it yourself if you're up for it. I doubt it'll harm anything if it rattles a lot. Just see if your fan's spinning properly otherwise the power supply may overheat.

EDIT: But if you do replace the fan, it may not be up to standard with the stock fan. Just gotta try look up the specs of the original fan and match it.

Sure, it's safe to use though.

Yes, definitely safe.

+1 I use the same drive cages on my C70 and they cause no problem with my HDDs.
