MHL Adaptor

so... I have a Sony Xperia z5 compact (also looking at buying a Z4 tablet soon and hope to use with that as well) and am looking at getting an adaptor so i can display my phone on my tv / on a projector when I travel

however as i normally travel with an HDMI cable I wanted to get an adaptor that would work with an HDMI plug but was hoping that I could find one that would work as a passive adaptor as well as an active one if needed, will something like

do the job or is there no such product that will work both as a passive and an active adaptor?

further to that, if I buy an 11pin adaptor to, maximise compatibility will this still work on my phone
