ok this morning i setup my pc to run linux, now after installing and rebooting it boots to a black screen with a mouse cursor. I wait for some time and then it does not do anything.

i then open a recovery terminal by pressing ctrl, alt and F1.i login and type sudo service lightdm restart. it then shows me the desktop but the screen starts going weird and it freezes. any idea whats happening?

here's a picture of it

If you were running Arch you would've installed them yourself. Not sure if Ubuntu gives you a choice at setup or not...

yes it is running the driver how do i get the official nvidia drivers?
