So where do I begin,

I reinstalled windows a few days back for multiple reasons that I won't go into. But since I reinstalled, I keep coming across this stupid issue. At first I thought it was just because of Rainbow Six Siege, as I've never really seen this happen before, but just now when I've woken up and had my daily browse on Facebook, it happened again. It simply just goes black (my screen that is) and then the computer restarts like I've pressed the restart button above the power switch on the case.

It's NOT a cooling issue, I've had MSI Afterburner on whilst playing games and the highest my GPU reached was 67, the highest my CPU reached was 45, and as demanding as Google Chrome is, I doubt it made my temperatures sky rocket off looking at Facebook.

I have:

i5 4690K

GTX 970

MSI Z97-G43

A Broken Heart

Corsair 600W PSU

16GB Vengance RAM

I don't want to just reinstall windows and hope the issue goes away, I'd rather have gotten some input from the forums before I go installing 130GB worth of games, again. :'(

Hahahahahah that's amazing! I was recommended it by a friend :'( Think the PSU could be the issue? I've had it since April :'(

A good way to trouble shootshutSHOOT it would be whether it shuts off during load.

If it doesn't then the problem might just be from something else in the system.

^Many edits cause im drunk.

Yea.

So I had Blackops3, Chrome, Siege and Sony Vegas Pro up and running, frame drops a fair bit on Blackops3 (due to the amount of other games/programs I had open I guess aha) but managed to get through a full game no issues.

It just randomly picks and chooses when It wants to be a sack :(

Just don't get why it did it this morning the minute I turned on my PC and signed into Facebook.

Haha, no problem man! If all else fails, i'll attempt the re-installation, again, and just hope it was some sort of error on the software side of things, I already spent too much of my money this month on my XL2420G so I really don't wanna go throwing money at my System until april :'(

After a long thinking process, i deem that it's the PSUs fault.

This is as a crash can result in a bluescreen, but a sudden powerloss cannot produce a bluescreen because of power reasons.

The another point of failure would be the motherboard power delivery, but since your motherboard is OP as Shit i wouldn't say it is the problem.

I would recommend the EVGA g2 550w if you are on a budget.

Okay! that's depressing :( but! I'm not sure if my MB kept up to date when I reinstalled as I don't have any of the programs (MSI FAST BOOT for example) that I got when I originally installed it, however... I can't find the disc I used originally and when I go on MSI's website, I'm gonna be honest I don't have a clue as to which update I need to download aha...

If that's not the case I'll look into that PSU, i'm not really on that much of a budget, and plan to get a 2nd 970 in April so maybe I should go a bit higher in terms of W on the PSU so I don't run into these problems again?

Well wattage doesn't determine PSU reliability.

CX series is bad because it is rated to work at a MAX of 30Deg celcius.

So consult people on the forums before getting it :D.

Oh, don't worry, after this if the PSU was the issue... you'll be sick of me from how much I'll be on this forum when troubleshooting. haha
