CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

RAM:G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Video card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card

Storage:Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive, Samsung 850 Pro Series 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive, Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Case: Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

PSU: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

 

Looking to be spending around $2000, will be using this mostly for gaming

Get a single 850 Evo 1TB SSD rather than 1 830, 1 850 pro and 1 HDD?

Think he already owns the 830

My point still stands. And he needs a cooler

Partition the SSD? Having separate drives does nothing to improve your experience compared to partitioning one drive. More drives just take up space and reduce airflow.

You don't need 750W for a 980ti, 650W will suffice. If you want to go SLI in the future get 850W.

It also reduces the amount of writing that occurs on each drive, increasing the lifespan. 

 

I'd also still recommend the HDDit's a waste to store media on an SSD, unless you're sharing that drive among a mass of people.

your right 1,000 watts is definitly nesecary

 

No, 850W are enough for SLI for a single card even 650-600W is enough.

Isn't 750 more efficient though? PSU's are most efficient around 50% load, gotta save nature!

 

1k for SLI doesn't seem like a bad idea either.
