Installing windows 8.1

I am currently upgrading my laptop from hdd to ssd. I created a Bootable flash drive and plugged it in and started the computer. It then gave me a compatability report saying to remove the drive and restart the laptop and I did that but got the same error again. Any suggestions for me to try next?
