gtx 525m problem

my friend has a laptop that was running bf3 at native res (900p) with his core i7 and a gtx525m. now after 3 years he can hardly run it at 800X600 due to major frame drops that always occur (from 90fps to 30fps) anybody knows how to fix this problems

 

 

note: his pc had problems with his HDD that lost him 160gb of his original 500gb

Sounds to me like the laptop is dying.

A 525m means its pretty old already, and with native hdd problems like that, it can't be anything good.
