OBS problems

I purchased a AverMedia Live Gamer Lite today and it works great! Oh at least with Avermedias RecCentral. But with OBS it works when running @ 1080p it cannot change the resolution automatically for some reason cause if i hop into a game which isn't 1080p it just freezes on the last frame which was @ 1080p. Is there a solution to this? I have the RecCentral installed as well the AverMedia stream engine which is required to run it with other capture programs.
