Build a new pc yesterday, all seemed well.

Was on Battlefront before and it just froze. No alt-tab, no response of any kind. Even the reset button didn't work.

Happened again while on reddit, that should rule out overheating.

I've not overclocked anything.

PC:

6600k

H110iGT

Z170-A

Crucial DDR4 16GB

GTX 970

EVGA 650W

All in all, you're computer sounds like a good one. The biggest things I would suggest trying are A. making sure you have all the correct drivers installed, but I'm sure you've done that... and B. Try pulling a stick of ram out, using them in different slots, or just down-clocking it a bit. It might be a long shot, but I've had all sorts of strange problems with a slow stick of ram before.

I think I got all the drivers installed. I'm not a novice but I don't really know if I need to install the chipset driver, or if its like the bios updates. I'll try the ram switch.

Thanks a lot, Happy new year :D

Definitely install the chipset driver, that could cause a myriad of problems... Hope you get the issue figured out, Happy new year!
