RODE PSA1 Microphone Boom alternative?

Hello, Im just wondering if there was a slightly cheaper version of the RODE PSA1 Microphone mount as I Dont have too much money at the moment...

 

Also, Ive heard that the cheap ones on amazon are pretty crap, Is that true?

What mic are you using? It held my fairly heavy C01U back when I had it :D (now I'm using a much smaller meteor)

Wow that is an expensive mic mount...

should hold fine :) just make sure you tighten the screws!

I've been looking for one, but there aren't much choices here and from what I read on Amazon all the cheap ones are made by the same company, just with a different sticker on them.  I'm planning a room reshuffle so I might be better off with a proper boom stand with sand bags to weigh it down.
