HDD Error

Go to solution Solved by JefferyD90,

Time it takes to spin up should be as low as possible.

Actually, you're right.  Lower is better.  I figured it was measured in ms, for example it took 25 ms to go from 0 to 5400 rpms....  Instead it is more of a "count down" method.  Where it sets (as a example) 250 ms is acceptable and it counts DOWN to 0 where the last 25 ms are considered to be above tolerance.  It is defiantly going to die, I'd avoid using it until you can get all of your data off of it.  You might find that the last time you get it to spin up (although it is unlikely).

Hey Guys,

windows notified me about a HDD error. I installed Crystal Disk info and yes - there is an error.

I'm not a huge expert, should i be worried? (Picture below)

Also, those power on hours...

Thanks!

Well, I don't know why its throwing a error because its below the threshold.  Regardless, I would start backing up my data.  Your HDD is going to fail, probably sooner rather than later.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I think lower = worse in this situation?

Alright, shame. Served me well :/.

It only stores games, anything else is dropbox and version controlled.

Thank you.
