Hey there Impling,
 
It really depends on the game. This is valid for applications too. Some of them can and are made portable meaning they can be installed on external drives and be executed on multiple system without the need of reinstalling. Most applications (and games) though need to make an entry in the OS's registry and thus they are tied to the specific OS. Running them on another OS would require you to reinstall them. 
I would check each application if it can be installed in such portable way and then proceed. :)

Did you make any progress? Did you do some research on some of the games? It would be helpful for anyone with the same question to know some info if you have found something interesting. :)
