Intel: 4590

Intel is a better option: you really don't get any benefits from AMD, even with more cores. An i5 4460 is only 20% slower than an 8350 in a rendering test.

Yeah. People really egg on how AMD is perfect for multithreaded workloads, and you should get it for that. But a 4 core competes with it, and crushes it in single threaded workloads.

AMD : FX 8320

Intel : i5 4460 for DDR3 and i5 6500 for DDR4

 

Intel is the better option for single-core stuff, like gaming and such, but AMD is better for rendering and such

AMD: 8350 I think -------------(9370/house heater on sale 199.99 on newegg actually)

Intel: i5-6500

9370 is a space heater.  i got a 9590.  it is 3 degrees outside and i have a box fan in my window.  on high,  and im sitting here with no shirt cause its too hot in my room

You could always get a pair of old server CPUs like 2 X5687s quad cores or a pair of X5650 ir X5660 hex cores for under 200.
