Testing a motherboard

I have need to test my motherboard, but the CPU I need hasn't arrived in the mail yet. I have all of the other parts though.

If I put in the ram and PSU and everything (but no CPU), will the motherboard give me a "no CPU detected" POST code so I can check if my motherboard is working?

If so, what will the beep codes sound like?

My motherboard is an MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition board.

CPU: i5-4690k GPU: EVGA GTX 950 SSC RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 1600 MHz Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Case: NZXT H440 White

PC can't work without a CPU.

I suggest you don't try it and wait for the CPU.

I'm not expecting it to work. It won't post at all. But I'm wondering if it will read an error post code so I at least know if the board is functional.
