Hey I'm wanting to build a 1080p gaming pc in a couple of months, I don't have a budget but 1440p and 4k vs 1080p there's really no difference to me. I'm only gaming, a 250gb ssd would be nice. I don't want to spend too much on stuff I don't need. I'm thinking around $1000 max including a monitor and a mouse and keyboard.

What kind of monitor do you want? What kind of keyboard do you want? What kind of mouse do you want?

for a build like yours, 90% of people choose 970/390

just letting you know, that those cards can't reach stable 60fps maxed in some games (example: GTA5, Witcher3) (Had both of them)

if you really want to max the games, and since you don't have a budget.. get 980/Fury

The R9 390 is a hot running card.
For fan placement this is what I'd do.

Edit: This motherboard only has one fan header, I'll look for a different motherboard
