Motherboard not posting

I just bought parts for a pc and it's not posting. What happens is the heat sink runs for a second than turns off. I tried taking ran out to see if that's the problem but it did not change anything. What happened? Is the motherboard doa?

Parts I bought:

Asus m5a78L-m

Amd fx 6300

Crucukal ballistix sport 4gb x2

UPDATE: it was the psu but it still won't post with other psu
