Hey guys of the LTT Forum,

as we all know, All in One CPU Coolers are pretty much the way to go for Performance/Cost/Cooling Ratio (Havent yet my hands on one yet unfortunatly)

then i saw the ARES II and was like: Oh thats Neat, All in One GPU

Now i Wonder, do All in One GPU Coolers have a Future? Is it profitable for manifacturers?

Because of the amount of GPU's and Aftermarket brands like Asus, MSI and more, would have to build the all in one individually for each card, i could imagne a huge price jump, which no one or most people would care, air coolers on GPU may be efficent, but once they hit the 2.5k rpm, you hear them i guess.

How are your opinions, will All in One GPU have a future, and when will it come?

It will be pretty good but the prices of GPU might go up which is bad for consumers unless they still have an option to use an air cooler for the GPU. I have seen people put CPU AIO in their GPU by custom modding it to fit the GPU.

Almost all video cards don't need to be liquid cooled. Plus, the GPU would need to have a low ASIC value to OC well under water. Which most of them have a high ASIC value due to the binning. I don't think they'll be coming around any time soon, unless cards start to go backwards and increase in the heat output.

High ASIC (80%+) = good for Air

Low ASIC = good for water/Dice/L2N

You can find out your ASIC by right clicking the top of GPU-Z.

I'm no expert but I think your interpreting it wrong,or atleast explaining it badly.

high ASIC means that theres less voltage leaks,so the card runs cooler due to being able to run at lower voltages,and thus being able to run on less efficient heatsinks.it also means that you'll likely be able to overclock better due to having more headroom voltage and temperature.

low ASIC means that theres more voltage leaks and therefore you need more voltage due to it leaking causing more heat and needing better cooling solutions.it also means that you'll likely be able to overclock less due to less headroom on voltage and temperature.

both would run and overclock better on water due to it's ability to dissipate heat better.

I believe there is a small(but growing) minority that want closed looped GPU water cooled solutions, but ARES II is the only one that is retailed. You can go and order a custom bracket for your GPU from TripT that will allow you to install Antec coolers, H60/80/100, etc. onto your GPUs.

Since his thread on Overclock.net has become huge, he started up his own website just for this.

If your GPU isn't listed as having anything, I believe you can contact him and have him make you a custom backplate, bracket, case badge, etc. for whatever you need. If you have to contact him he might have to ask you for some measurements as he cuts all the metal himself and he can also do lettering and other sorts of things.

There is certainly a market for closed loop GPU solutions, if people are wanting to put a H80 on their GPU for better cooling then I wouldn't doubt they would buy something like a ARES II if the cooling solution was available for all their cards. I will also like to note that I am not affiliated with TripT whatsoever, I have had to link a lot of people on these forums to him because he is the only one that I know of that makes this kind of custom stuff that is also nice and high quality.

It may be nicely done by enthusiasts and i admit, it looks super nice.

But top Aftermarket Brands will eventuelly output better performance to price in the long run. And the failure Rate of assembling wrong goes lower as well.

i personally wouldnt mind a 120 Rad for GPU Only, maybe a thick for more use of Push/Pull. Monster Cases like NZXT Phantom or Coolermasters Cosmos II have more than enough room for such stuff.

I hope that maybe the new 700/8000 series will inspire Aftermarket Manifacturers to try out All in One.
