Before I start : I am moving from AMD so don't start going on about it.

I play games such as Just cause 3, ets2, eventually gtav, train sim, lego world, universe sandbox 2, ATS, RCTW

I've been told various times to get a 970 (can't afford a 980)

But I have two questions

Well the ram problems affect me (I'm gonna have one 1080p monitor and some other one, will get a 1440p one in the future)

Which one do you recommend? (it needs a backplate and looks nice and is fast)

Thanks,

Specs

FX8350

R9 270x

8GB RAM (getting upgraded)

CXM 750W Corsair

3tb HDD

500GB HDD

20GB SSD

Fractal define R5

If you're planning to play at 1440p in the future then the 3.5GB of VRAM will be a problem. The solution? You have to go with the R9 390 - offers better 1440p performance for a similar price. Sorry bud.

I am curious on why you don't want an AMD GPU. It really is the better choice.

Do not get that model. ASUS and Gigabyte coolers are notoriously bad for AMD cards so I would look into another aftermarket variant.
