So I've been looking for a super cheap <50$ NAS enclosure, or USB pluggable NAS that works on my local network, and preferably on outside networks too. Can you reccommend a cheap NAS, or maybe a router that I can plug a HDD into. I've looked to pogoplug on amazon, but I saw it got bad ratings with people saying Pogoplug tried to sabotage the features with software updates, wanting users to pay for previously free features.

Anyways thanks

Pretty much any new router will allow you to share a USB drive over the network. I've had really good experiences with Asus routers, but you'll be hard pressed to find anything for under $50.

Try doing a search on newegg for routers under $50 with USB ports and sort by best rating.
