Windows 10 Activation

Hey, I just got a new Samsung 850 Evo for my gaming computer. I did a clean windows 10 install on it using a flash drive, but it did not use the old product key, and i do not have the old product since I bought the computer from a guy. Is there any way to activate my os without having to buy the $200 windows 10 digital download from microsoft just to get a new key?

was the old OS activated? if so just clean install and let it activate on it's own it takes a fair few hours or reboots for it to get a reply from the activation server, but if you swapped the motherboard you'll need a new licence.
