Headset Issue and Questions

Go to solution Solved by sobe,

Funny enough that was one that I was looking at prior to making this post.  Looks like a solid buy, will probably pick it up unless someone posts comments that steer me otherwise haha.

I would suggest the HyperX Cloud or Cloud Core, not the Cloud 2 unless you ABSOLUTELY need to use USB for whatever reason. $30 price premium for a very cheap and crappy usb amp/dac, pass on that...

Hey, so I just finished my first build, hallelujah haha, but I am having a problem with my headset.  Currently I am trying to use my turtle beach px4's with my PC, sound works beautifully, but whenever I use the microphone through bluetooth their is a very distinct popping sound, almost like popcorn, that comes through.  I am aware that the PX4 headset is built for the PS4 but it does not make sense to me why any issues would result with the microphone when using it with a PC.  Is there anything I can do to fix this or is this a result of something that I cannot control?  Below is my mobo, wifi card, and headset for reference.  The wifi card is my bluetooth source and it plugs into a pci slot and uses a USB 2.0 header for power.

If there is not a solution, any comment would be appreciated.

Second, I am perfectly fine buying a new audio solution for my pc if I have to.  I am new to the audio world, I previously used a built-in microphone and earbuds with my laptop which I had for the last 5 years. I have a $100 - $150 budget for a good headset, or a $150 - $200 for a sound card and headset if the sound card would make an appreciable difference.  I mainly listen to movies, music, and video games.  I would like at least a decent quality microphone since I use skype and mumble sometimes.  I am not an audiophile or anything I just want decent quality sound with a microphone that sounds good without interference issues.

A black/red color combo would be preferable also since the rest of my build is black and red.

Well, if you want suggestions, HyperX Cloud II (http://amzn.com/B00SAYCXWG) fits the bill perfectly: It's an excellent headset, it's 100$, it's black-and-red, it's got a decent microphone (https://soundcloud.com/ltt-mic-test/hyperx-cloud-microphone-test-recording) and it should have no issues working with your PC.

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. Samsung P2270H. AKG K273 Pro. Sennheiser HD555. Razer Goliathus Speed Medium. Func 1030 L. Qpad CT Medium.

I used to own: Razer DeathAdder 3G. Razer Krait. IntelliMouse Optical 1.1. SteelSeries QcK.

My motherboard has decent onboard audio so that should not be a problem, if the additional dongle / surround sound is of no help or not good, then I am probably going to go with the Cloud 1, once again pending any positive/negative feedback from LTT.

Is there any point in getting a sound card, or will there not be any appreciable difference over the one included with my Gaming M5.  Figured I would ask since I have a lot of money left over in my budget getting the Cloud 1.  Anything between $50 and $75 that would blow my mind or increase performance by a large margin?
