Hard Drive Problems

Go to solution Solved by HPWebcamAble,

Yea I know about SSD. The reason why I didnt go with a ssd was because this is a old PC. Im going to build a new gaming rig later on when I get some money. This PC is just to pass the time. And you see I download a lot of games/Anime. So I need a bigger Hard Drive.

Also Do you think it will fit though. Because I dont know if my computer has sata 6 wiring and what not.

Sata is backwards compatible, so as long as it has any Sata ports it will work with the new HDD or SSD, you just won't be able to take advantage of the faster speed the newer drives offer.

Hi I got this message coming up when I start my computer.

post-219600-0-77634200-1451154334_thumb.

I was thinking that my hard drive is corrupted so I was thinking about buying a new one. Since they are on sale now at newegg because of Christmas, I needed a upgrade, and a virus corrupted my windows. =) But I dont know if the wiring will plug into the new hard drive. Is there a way for me to check to see if the wiring will plug into the new hard drive?

This is the Hard Drive I want to buy.

Yes I think your HDD is bad. By the way if you are buying this HDD for your main boot drive PLEASE get an SSD for your boot drive instead (and an HDD for storage). It will speed up your computer significantly even on an older platform and they are really cheap these days. Here is one on newegg for $40:
