Wiped harddrive issue

Go to solution Solved by DevilishBooster,

GPT is the new standard that is slowing taking over, MBR is the old standard (from 1983) that still has more compatibility than GPT. If you are running all newer hardware and Win 8/8.1 or 10 then you will probably want to go with GPT.

I cloned my HD to my 250gb ssd. I want to use my HD for mass storage. I go to disk management and it says my disk is 'not initialised' I right click on my HD and i press 'initialise disk' then here comes my problem.

It says if I want it as a MBR or a GPT. I don't know which one to press for mass storage?

Well, assuming you have Steam already installed, you need to go into the settings and tell Steam to create a game directory on the D: drive (assuming your HDD is labeled as D:) and then you should be able to cut+paste the game folders from Steam's C: directory to the D: directory, and then the next time you go to play them Steam should (in theory) automatically recognize that they are on the HDD. If they are not Steam games and they are actually installed from CDs then you will need to reinstall them to a folder you create on the HDD. Either way, make sure you make backup copies of your saved game files before moving/reinstalling any games.
