ever since i updated to crimson drivers my fan speeds on my r7 260x have been reset to whatever i last manually set it to in msi afterburner after waking from sleep or powering on. for example i will put my pc to sleep and then come back to it and will start to play a game and i cant hear the fan speed ramping up so i check afterburner and the fan is set to 40% and the auto fan speed is unchecked. i heard of people having problems where they could not control the fan in crimson but i dont think this is the same problem. any help is appreciated.

Simply dont put a pc on sleep mode because no matter what hardware you have you will have an issue after wakin it up from sleep mode (cuz they are not fully awaken in most of the cases).

And before green fanboi comes and says that amd is bee and nv is good i will say it once more no matter what gpu you could have it could have the same result becasue sleep mode system is mostly at fault :D

CPU i5 6600k 4,4Ghz , COOLER Dark Rock 3 from BQ, RAM 16 GB of ddr 4 2800MHz from corsair,

follow your topic btw i forgot to mention it. shutting down makes things easier to start up so if you need to go shut down system and you wont have a problem with fans and etc and power consuption could be even less becasue sometiimes system acts like its sleep but still consumes a little bit of power to make sure that hw will wake up fast ;p

when i bought the gpu it came with something about how in sleep the gpu consumes no power so its not as much of a difference than having it off

GPU is not the only thing you have in computer right? you would be amazed how much power he can consume in sleep mode  (ofc not big like in idle but still some part of it), and you have more trouble after awakin than it is worth
