Hi. I have a problem with my pc for a while. I bought a Kingston 2x4GB memory kit at 800MHz and every single time I play video games my pc restarts suddenly and this is happening only when I play video games if I stay on the net or watch a movie there is no problem everything works perfect. I tested the memory with Memtest86 overnight for 10 hours and i receive no errors. I read on the net that i need to enter the bios and put the timings and the voltage manually but I don't think that I need to do that because my motherboard recognized everything. Before I changed my memory kit I had a Corsair 2x2GB at the same speed and everything was perfect, I didn't receive and bsod and the pc didn't restart when I played games.

This is my pc:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940
CPU Cooler: Xigmatek Achilles S1284C
MOBO: Asus M3A78-T
RAM: 8GB DDR2 @800MHz Kingston
SSD: Adata S510 60GB
HDD: Hitachi 250GB
VGA: Gigabyte HD7950 Boost
PSU: Corsair CX600
MONITOR: Asus VH232T
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit

I tested Prime95 and in the first test (blend) the first thread give the this error "Fatal error: rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4" after a few seconds, the same happened to the second thread but the 3th and 4th thread didn't receive any error. In the second test (custom I changed the memory to use (in MB) to 7000 instead of 2000 as was in the first test) and the 1st thread gave me the same error as the first test but after 2 minutes, the 2nd thread it went well without any error, the 3th thread i got the same error as the first thread in 2 minutes and at the 4th thread I got error resulting sum was X, expected Y after a minute. Both tests were run for 1 hour and 5 minutes.

CPU temperature was 48 C maximum.

I ran FurMark and after about 5 minutes my pc restarts. I tested 2 times and the same thing was happening.

Before I changed the memory none of this happened.

I checked windows event log and this is what I found "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

i suggest you do enter the timings and frequency manually since even though the ram might work, that does not mean the settings are all detected correctly...
