Do I need to update my chipset? Some guy told me I should?

Probably the guy meant that you should get a new motherboard (the chipset is soldered onto it). I have no idea why you should though. Possibly for expansion? Here you can compare Haswell chipsets: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1150#Haswell_chipsets

Okay the chipset you have is H81. If you would like to overclock your overclockable CPU then yes you should upgrade the chipset (this means replacing your current motherboard) with the chipset Z97 so you can search for a Z97 motherboard that looks good for you and supports the socket LGA 1150. Although if you plan on overclocking make sure to have a semi-decent cooler on the CPU. Good luck! :D

Hi - you cannot update your chipset via software, it is hardware. The only way you can change your chipset is to buy a new motherboard.
