HDMI 2.0 Support ?

Hey , I have an ASUS VS247HR and a Gigabyte GTX 960 2GB and I am planning to buy a HDMI 2.0 cable , question is , do both my gpu and monitor support it or will it not work properly ?

Yes, as long as that monitor has the support.

The 960 definitely will have support for HDMI 2.0.

It won't make too much of a difference on that panel as it is 1080p at 60hz So it will be fine.

I just want to use NVIDIA DSR to get the game to run at 4k @60 FPS and as far as I know HDMI 1.4 can't display that .

DSR doesn't require a cable capable of 4K@60FPS

Oh really ? Well , i'm  currently using DVI -D Single Link and when i put the resolution at 4k and click apply it goes back to 1080p :*

I don't think it's necessary when your GTX 960 can't play 4k games. And i have done some research and i doesn't look like your monitor has hdmi 2.0

I'm talking about CS GO , of course i am aware a gtx 960 is not 4k capable Neither is the GTX 970

the resolution does not change, nvidia does all that for you, renders it at 4K and outputs at 1080p, so no need to change your res to 4K

(you do have to specify that you wanna run DSR in the nvidia software thing)

I don't understand why people say that X GPU can't play games at 2160p. Sure not at max or even high, but if OP is fine with medium at 2160p60 in Y game then it'll do 2160p

I don't think it can when it only has 2gb gddr5 ram.

Yes and Amd gpu can run some games with an okay framerate but this person is using a gtx960 and don't even have a 4k display
