So my friend has come to me asking that someone has messed with his Macbook pro (Looks like from 2012) and has added passwords and timers to his account, But he cant disable any of it because he doesn't know the passwords.

He cant factory reset it and he wants to keep his data. Anyone got clues to fixing it? His last resort would be to somehow factory reset it.

EDIT: His OS is "OS X Yosemite"

Wow this was old as heck, Need to update this signature!

Just take out the sata hard drive and connect it to another mac( because pc's will not read that hard drive) using a sata to usb connector and back it up and if it asked for a id and password then enter your current one. then you can factory reset the laptop. and put the information back.

Has he preformed any "Time Machine" backups recently? if so he can simply reinstall and use the latest backup that occurred before the lockout.

He and I are new to Mac so no, Never heard to Time Machine before

i guests this might interest you, http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/4-ways-read-mac-formatted-drive-windows/ i think with the situation you're in i would go with a good paid option rather than having to install the stupid java environment with the free one. really get on it fast.

wait if you still have hold of your apple id and password then you can reset the password.

or

by following this method if you do not have file vault on and even if you do just follow this guide-

http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac/what-do-if-youve-forgotten-your-mac-password-3594395/ i think it will do the trick for you.
